The Alabama Forestry Commission says it has rescinded its fire danger advisory for all counties in the state. With the recent rainfall across the state, cooler temps, and higher humidity, the chance of significant wildfire potential has decreased.
There are still underlying drought conditions for the state of Alabama, so the AFC will continue to monitor the situation and will reissue an advisory if needed.
The AFC urges anyone conducting outdoor burning to follow safety recommendations such as not leaving a fire unattended until it is out (cold to the touch), having the necessary equipment and personnel to control the fire, and having a garden hose or water supply on hand for smaller debris burns. The agency also recommends using extreme caution and staying aware of local weather updates.
Burn permits may be obtained by calling (800) 392-5679. To report a wildfire, call (800) 392-5679.
