The Sheffield Police Department says it is currently investigating an accident involving a train hitting a pedestrian at the intersection of North Montgomery Avenue and 1st Street.
Authorities say a 43-year-old white male was transported to NAMC Hospital in Florence where he succumbed to his injuries at 1:37 PM.
The accident is currently being investigated by Sheffield Police Department at this time. We will have further information when it becomes available.
