Police Arrest Lexington Man After Chase

Florence police report that on Monday June 12th at approximately 7:50 pm, officers responded to a call of a male leaving Lauderdale County Work Release. A description of the male and the vehicle, a black
truck he was leaving in, was given out over the police radio.

An officer observed the vehicle turning onto Ironside Street towards Singing River Bridge. The vehicle pulled to the far-right lane on the bridge as to stop then accelerated at a rapid rate. The vehicle crossed the bridge and turned onto River Road heading East. He was traveling at speeds over 110 MPH.

The pursuit was canceled as the vehicle passed Foster Mill Road. Officers reduced their speeds and lost sight of the truck. Officers, a short time later, observed the truck had run off the road. A motorist in the area advised the driver had fled into a nearby corn field. Officers set up a perimeter and Muscle Shoals responded to assist.

The male, Torry Harrison of Lexington, AL, was captured after a Muscle Shoals Officer deployed a drone that led officers to the area where he was bedded down. Harrison is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center without bond.  Torry Harrison is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
