Student Arrested for Terrorist Threat

From MSPD:  On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Muscle Shoals Police Department took a Muscle Shoals Middle School Student into custody for Terrorist Threats made toward the school that were overheard by other students.

On Wednesday morning the parents of the students, who heard another student make a Terrorist Threat toward the school, notified school officials and the Muscle Shoals Police Department. The student in question was quickly taken into custody at his home by Muscle Shoals Police Department Patrol Officers and Detectives prior to the beginning of school on Wednesday morning.

The student was transported to the Muscle Shoals Police Department, and later turned over to the Colbert County Juvenile Probation Office with charges pending.

The Muscle Shoals Police Department takes any and all threats made toward our schools very seriously. Each threat will be vigorously investigated until we are certain the matter is closed, with the utmost confidence in the safety of our school children and school staff.

As always, we appreciate the Muscle Shoals City School System in their efforts to combat these threats, and we thank the parents for coming forward in this situation to provide necessary information deemed vital to this case.
